Health Risks of Visceral Fat

Visceral fat, also known as abdominal fat, is the fat that accumulates around the abdominal organs. It is a significant health risk because it is associated with a higher risk of several chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.

Higher visceral fat is also associated with a generally higher level of inflammation in the body, which can adversely affect health and immunity.

Our DEXA scan accurately assesses Visceral Fat with our unique CoreScan (tm) feature so you can check in on both your current risk and measure your progress!

Note that not ALL abdominal fat is Visceral Fat!

Subcutaneous belly fat is held below the skin and does NOT affect health in nearly the same way as fat held around the internal organs.
